Ukraine will not be able to become a member of the European Union in an accelerated manner. This was stated by a source in the delegation of one of the European countries in the EU Council.
“EU countries will agree that Ukraine has come a long way, made significant progress in reforms, but there will be no promise of accelerated membership,” the source said in an interview with TASS. According to the interlocutor, Ukraine will not receive the promise of accelerated accession to the EU at the February 3 summit.
Earlier, EURACTIV stated that the likelihood that Ukraine will join the European Union in the near future is extremely small. Ukraine intends to join the EU within two years, reports Life. At the same time, the EU did not consider Kyiv’s desire realistic, RT reports. Before that, it became known that the Ukraine-EU summit will be held in Kyiv on February 3.
